A Day in Germany

So today we (A and I) went to Leer, a German town. Just for fun. We were here earlier in August 2009. With a rented car we made our trip. We did a little bit of shopping, eating and walking by the waterfront. It was very nice and quiet near the water (the Ems). We had some rain, cloudiness and later on some sun. 

New Sandals

These are my new sandals on which I have already walked a lot and which caused me some big blisters under my feet. 
But they are nice, aren't they?

Happy Birthday...Mr. President

               


Barack Obama celebrates his 51th birthday today.
I wish him many happy years and another four years of presidency.

Holiday in Friesland

Yesterday and today I visited my brother, his wife and daughter in Friesland. The weather was fine apart from some rain. I walked the dog and prepared dinner, because my brother and his wife had to work a part of the day. With my niece J I had a lot of fun and we stayed up late to watch the olympics and we slept in today till about half past eleven.
Tonight I came home and had pizza with friend A. When we had a walk afterwards we saw the full moon rise above the water. It was a beautiful day!

Hot Summer Day

Today has been a really hot summer day! 
I had a picknick near the water and a long walk. 
So long that I now have blisters underneath my feat.

Passe Partout

Last night around midnight I found inspiration to try out my new mat cutter and I made two frames for my photographs.
All went well and the frames made my photo's look a lot better!

Natural Remedies

                        



I'm having a couple of days off. 
So today I have been shopping in the second hand shop around the corner, just for fun.
I found this book about natural remedies for all kinds of illnesses. 
My parents also have this book, so it is familiar to me. 
I'm happy to have it myself; it's very interesting.

Opening Ceremony Olympics

Wow! What an impressive opening ceremony of the Olympics 2012 in London last night! I enjoyed watching it. Music, design, people, history, enthousiasm, happiness, creativity, sportspeople of 204 countries, royalty and celebrities and much more.
I went to bed about two o'clock.

Diane von Furstenberg is a designer who is able to create a look for women of all ages. Even mine...

My colleagues

Now while the weather is so beautiful I and my colleagues are having our tea and coffee breaks outside in the sun or in the shadow. Wonderful!


Yesterday the regional television visited our hospital and filmed one of my colleagues: you can see her above in her African dress.

Tan

In the two-three days that Summer is here I already have a bit of a tan. Don't you agree? With a little help of a self tanning product....
Today's temperatures are about 28 degrees!

Medicinal Music

Last night I was a little depressed. When I watched the movie 'The Last Waltz' about the last performance of The Band on November 24th 1976 in San Francisco I felt quite happy again. All my old musical heroes were there: singing and playing and talkin about their lives.
Music from my younger years is always my best medicin!

Little Walk

I had a little walk in the neighbourhood and took a couple of photographs of the Ikea building with the stairways and straight lines.
The weather is beautiful today!

Summer Style

I found this photo in a fashion magazine today: a lovely two piece in white by Jil Sander. Now that Summer seems to be really coming I would like to wear white. Funny thing is the knitted sweater with the face: I had almost exactly the same one about twenty seven years ago - I wish I still had it!

Mail Problems

Today I'm having trouble with my mail and facebook account.
On the other hand I succeeded in doing some other PC activities that I never tried before like sending large photo files via wetransfer.com.
Let's see what tomorrow brings, digitally.

Home Studio

It has been a fruitful weekend.
Yesterday the photoshoot and today I have 
been working on two songs with reggae artist John aka Johnny Baby.
All went well. I will post the musical results as soon as they are ready.

Boss Leaving

My boss C left today. She worked for four years in our clinic.
We had a little party at work to congratulate her with her new job in the hospital.
The photo above was taken two years ago....

More Ugliness in My Street

I told you earlier in the year that the houses in my street are being renovated and that it's been decided that the houses will be painted in the colours dark brown and bright orange. (Yuk!) 
Now I have found out that the houses on the other side of the street will be painted in dark green, pale orange and beige (yuk-yuk-yuk!)
No pictures available yet, but believe me - it's too ugly!

Another Recipe

Here is one more recipe that I made in another weekend.
A spinach and broccoli pie with cashew nuts and cheese.
Really jummy!

Top Chef

I try to make a new dish every weekend. This weekend I made a salad of courgettes and capers and an oven dish with chicory and ham gratined with gruyere cheese and cream.
It took a while to make it but it tasted really lovely! 
I'm eating it again tonight....
